PURPOSE: A method for deciding a carcass profile in a pneumatic pressure radial tire is provided to improve traveling safety by preventing deformation of a shoulder portion and to improve durability of the shoulder unit. CONSTITUTION: A pneumatic radial tire comprises an inner liner(1) forming an inner face of the tire; a carcass(2) surrounding beads(3) and a bead pillar(4); a side wall(5) attached to an outer portion of the carcass; a belt(6) mounted on an outer portion of the side wall by being attached to an outer portion of the carcass; and a tread(7) installed on the outer portion of the side wall by being attached to an outer portion of the belt. A profile is decided to a bead unit fixing point from a base face by considering a rim width, shape of a rim flange and size of the bead unit. Maximum height of the carcass is decided by considering diameter of the rim and maximum diameter of the carcass. A radius of curvature of the carcass profile is formed larger to increase tension. Thereby, the pneumatic radial tire improves traveling safety by preventing deformation of a shoulder portion.
