PURPOSE: A key code input device using a fingerprint recognition and a method thereof are provided to input a corresponding designated key code on a finger recognition code corresponded to an extracted fingerprint by extracting the fingerprint. CONSTITUTION: A fingerprint extracting unit(20) receives a fingerprint image from the first and second fingerprint input units(11,12), converts the fingerprint image into a digital image signal, and extracts each fingerprint data. A controller(30) links fingerprint data extracted by the fingerprint extracting unit(20) when registering a fingerprint with a designated finger recognition code and stores the fingerprint data in a flash memory. The controller(30) extracts the finger recognition code stored in the fingerprint data extracted by the fingerprint extracting unit(20) from the flash memory, combines the extracted finger recognition code, and creates finger recognition code column and reads an ASCII code designated to the created finger recognition code column from a ROM(50). The ROM(50) stores the ASCII codes designated to each finger recognition code column being created as a result of a combination by the controller(30). A buffer(60) temporarily stores the ASCII code read from the ROM(50) by the controller(30) and outputs the ASCII code per a predetermined time.
