PURPOSE: A car audio having an automatic tuning function and tuning method is provided, which is capable of searching the same radio broadcast provided with different frequencies according to regions. CONSTITUTION: A non-volatile memory(1) stores tuning frequencies of respective broadcasting stations. A key input part(7) comprises select buttons corresponding to the broadcasting stations. A digital tuner(4) tunes different frequencies according to a control signal. An audio circuit(2) outputs an output of the digital tuner(4) through a speaker. A microprocessor(3) reads a plurality of frequencies with reference to the non-volatile memory(1) for a broadcast station selected by the key input part(7) to control the digital tuner(4) for frequency tuning. The microprocessor(3) checks an output sensitivity to tune a frequency having good sensitivity.
