PURPOSE: An expansion joint device for a bridge is provided to make movement operation smoothly and to prevent the permeation of impurities to a space. CONSTITUTION: The expansion joint device for a bridge comprises: a pair of vertical plates(11,12) buried on floor slabs and provided with several anchors(33), wherein an elastic member(40) is interposed between vertical plates(11,12); and a pair of horizontal plates(21,22) coupled horizontally on the top of each vertical plate(11,12) and overlapped parallel in a partial section, wherein a sliding member(30) is interposed in the overlapped section between the horizontal members(21,22).
