At the forward end of the boot sole are components engaging in mating ones of the binding (10) so as to form a hinged joint. Those on the sole includes a transverse spindle parallel to the ski running surface and over which a holding component (13) of the binding fits. A hand lever (15) on the binding moves the component between the locked and free positions, and a flexible component (16) acts between the sole forward end and the binding so as to exert a return force on the boot when this lifts off the ski. Corresponding locked positions of the lever define the locked and free positions of the holding component. The forward end of the latter can be coupled directly to the lever so as to be slid the and fro by it. The component passes through the flexible one and a front stop (23) on the binding for the spindle on the sole. The flexible component can be held in the binding by the hinge spindle (14) of the hand lever. A baseplate on the ski can have two lateral flanges (22) bent upwards, also a rib bent upwards to form a front stop (20) for the spindle on the boot sole. |
