PURPOSE: A method for forming patterns on the surface of glass products such as lampshade, cup and vessel is provided, which is characterized by patterning glass before shape forming in manufacturing glass products unlike conventional patterning process. CONSTITUTION: The pattern-forming method comprises the steps of; mixing glass raw materials such as SiO2, Na2O, CaO, MgO and Al2O3 in an effective ratio; melting the mixture in a Pt crucible; forming patterns on the surface of glass by dipping a hollow stainless rod(10) into molten glass(1), putting one end of the rod covered with glass melt into a patterned mold(20), and blowing air into the other end of the rod; forming shapes by soaking the patterned glass in a different kind of molten glass(3) and forming in a mold(30) having a shape; cooling the formed glass at 500-550deg.C for 1.5-2hrs in a furnace slowly; processing such as cutting, hole making, and chamfering.
