PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for an EL element capable of greatly reducing defects when performing transfer such as excessive transfer and defective transfer at a comparatively low transfer temperature and obtaining high-quality EL element when manufacturing the EL element by transferring an organic EL layer on a substrate like a pattern by a transfer method. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for the EL element in which a basic material and a transfer sheet having a mold release layer formed on the basic material and the organic EL layer formed on the mold release layer are fused and transferred on the substrate on which at least an electrode layer is formed, the mold release layer is formed by hardening resin.
