PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix display element using a phosphorescent material for color having low light emission efficiency among red, green, and blue colors expressed using a conventional fluorescent material and using the fluorescent material for remaining colors by a full color organic electroluminescent element, reduce power consumption of the display element to increase competitive strength of a product, and enable the manufacture of a large area full color display element. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the display element, in particular, the organic electroluminescent element having high color purity. To explain in details, a light emitting layer is formed using the phosphorescent material having excellent light emission efficiency even when driving by a small current in at least one or more sub-pixel regions requiring large current drive when compared with other pixels in the organic electroluminescent element composed of sub-pixel regions of red, green, and blue colors. Since a drive current can be lowered owing to this configuration, it is possible to not only reduce power consumption effectively but also prolong the service life of the element and realize high color purity. Consequently, displayed quality of the display element can be improved. |
