PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component with a shield case exhibiting high positional accuracy of fixing the shield case to a substrate, excellent shield performance and high reliability of package. SOLUTION: Engaging recesses 4 are made in the side face of a substrate 1 for mounting a surface mounting component 2 and a plurality of engaging claws 6 being inserted into the engaging recesses 4 of the substrate 1 are provided in a shield case 3. When the engaging claws 6 of the shield case 3 engage with the engaging recesses 4 of the substrate 1, an energizing force is applied to the engaging claws 6 through resiliency and the substrate 1 can be grasped surely by the plurality of engaging claws 6 inserted into the engaging recesses 4 of the substrate 1.
