PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval technology that enables a user to retrieve the information the user wants from a large amount of the information with a simple operation. SOLUTION: A system based on the present invention displays a sample data and receives a user's decision data for the pros and cons. The system, then, creates a retrieval key data by averaging attribute values for the information to be matched. The system, as the next step, creates a conversion rule to convert the defined distance for each attribute value to the proximity so that the proximity between the retrieval key data and the information to be matched, for example, becomes 1 as well as the proximity between the retrieval key data and the information not to be matched, for example, becomes 0 based on the distance between the created retrieval key data and the sample data. The system decides an integrated format for the proximity, which puts the information to be matched at the upper positions, and then, retrieves the information, which is in close proximity of the retrieval key data, from the information stored in a storage based on the integrated format and the conversion rule.
