PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint authentication type input device in which a fingerprint sensor is utilized for inputting characters or the like. SOLUTION: The fingerprint authentication type input device 10 is constituted so as to include a fingerprint input part 12 for taking in a fingerprint image of fingers that a user presses against it; a fingerprint collation part 13 for collating the fingerprint with the one corresponding to a pre-registered key code by means of pattern recognition based on the fingerprint image inputted from the fingerprint input part; and a key code generation part 13 for generating the key code assigned to the fingerprint based on the fingerprint collated by the fingerprint collation part.
