PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize drive performance for sliding a fixing film, prevent image defects and degradation in the ability to carry paper, thereby improving reliability, restrict fixing film wear, and enhance durability. SOLUTION: Sliding grease is held by forming grooves in the fixing film and the glass insulating layer face of a heating element, which forms the sliding face of a heater. The grooves are processed by, e.g. pressing or grinding. By forming the grooves near the heating element, grease can be immediately softened when driving starts from a low temperature.
