PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electronic still camera that drives a zoom lens so as to be a zoom scale factor being the same as that of an image selected among a plurality of electronically zoomed images. SOLUTION: A CPU 11 makes a lens barrel driving device 13 drive a lens barrel 12 to wide edges. When a release switch 19 is operated, the CPU 11 instructs an imaging device 14 to perform imaging. The imaging device 14 outputs an imaging signal to an image processing circuit 15. Image data that undergoes image processing in the image processing circuit 15 are stored in a buffer memory 20. The CPU 11 generates N sheets of electronically zoomed images form the image data in accordance with the number N of zooming steps stored in a memory 16. The electronically zoomed images are displayed as N sheets of thumbnail images on a monitor 17 for display in a matrix shape. The CPU 11 operates driving quantity of the lens barrel 12 so as to be able to obtain an optical scale factor equal to the scale factor of a thumbnail image selected by an image selection and decision operation member 18 and makes the lens barrel driving device 13 drive the leans barrel 12. |
