PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aluminium foil for electrolytic capacitor in which a foil thermally dried and softened following to etching is prevented from breaking at the time of winding. SOLUTION: A cast aluminium block having purity of 99.9 mass% or above, preferably 99.98 mass% or above, is homogenized and hot-rolled according to an ordinary method, subjected to intermediate annealing and cold rolling repeatedly, as required, and then cold-rolled to have a final thickness. Subsequently, it is subjected to low temperature heat treatment under conditions of holding at a temperature of 160-240 deg. for 4-15 hours.
