PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a peeling sheet tip part is easily mounted by making it fully approach to the exit side of a nip, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with roller parts 25r and 41r having a circular elastic layer 252, a fixing roller 25 or a belt fixing means 42 which heats the releasing layers 253 and 401 of either the circular layer 253 of the outer periphery of the roller part or an endless belt 40 by using a heat source 254, and a pressurization means Pm to press an endless pressurization surface Fc to the fixing roller 25 and the belt fixing means 42. An unfixed toner image t on a recording material S is hot-pressed and fixed by using a fixing nip N formed by the means 25, 42 and Pm. The peeling sheet 28 to peel the recording material S holding a toner image from the releasing layer is provided in the vicinity of the exit side g of the fixing nip N. The peeling sheet 28 is attached with a predetermined gap d to the releasing layer while having a curvature which almost meets the outside diameter shape of the releasing layer unitedly rotated with the roller parts 25r and 41.
