PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set easy to operate. SOLUTION: In an interface part 11 of the portable telephone set, an operator designates the number of each digit of a telephone number by rotating a plurality of rotary dials 21 describing the choices of numerals 27 for each digit of the telephone number while watching the choices of the number 27 described along the peripheries of the rotary dials 21. These designated numbers of respective digits are recognized by a detector 22 and a control part 13. In such a state, a telephone call is made by operating a call switch 18. While directly watching the numbers 27, the telephone number can be designated.
