PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electronic device, which can charge a secondary battery, by operating a drive motor which actuates an intrinsic function of an electronic device body as a generator, without installing an independent generator, when the state of charge of the built-in secondary battery is reduced. SOLUTION: The electronic device is constituted of an electronic device body built-in inside a cabinet 10; the secondary battery 30 to supply power to actuate the intrinsic function of the electronic device body; a drive motor 220 to actuate the function with power from the secondary battery 30; a train of gears 230 which is disengaged from the drive motor 220 when actuating the electronic device body with the intrinsic function, and is coupled to a rotor of the drive motor 220, for operating the drive motor 220 as the generator when charging the secondary battery 30; a charging circuit part 50A to charge the secondary battery 30; and a rotating means, for example, a handle 210, which is mounted on the external surface of the cabinet 10, and manually rotates the train of gears 230.
