摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of degradation in picture quality caused by flicker or the like, to eliminate the necessity of adjusting an opposing voltage to thereby reduce the production cost in an active matrix type liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a display panel in which liquid crystal elements are provided in the opposing sections between pixel electrodes 1 and an opposing electrode, a scanning circuit 3 which successively applies gate driving pulses to pixel transistors 2 to select liquid crystal elements and a drive circuit 4 which writes video signals into selected liquid crystal elements through the pixel transistors. The device is also provided with an integrating means 5 which integrates a.c. driven video signals employing an integration time constant that is equal to or greater than one hundred times the inverse period of the video signals and a buffering means 6 which conducts buffering for d.c. signals and the center potential of the video signals is made into a common voltage and is applied to an opposing electrode 13.
