PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the staining of the edge of transfer material by the fixing separation pawl of a fixing device and to reduce jamming by the pawl. SOLUTION: By setting the temperature of the fixing separation pawl to be higher than the surface temperature of a fixing roller, toner adhering to the fixing pawl is transferred to the fixing roller.
