The tandem master cylinder (10) for a motor vehicle has a bore (14) receiving two pistons (18). A seal (50) is in contact with each piston, defining a rear feed chamber (56,60) and a front pressure chamber (62). The piston (18) has a piercing (88) opening into the periphery and into the bore forming a valve to isolate the pressure chamber. The piston has a tubular extension (90) to selectively close the piercing.
