PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of realizing the improvement of handling-over property of transfer paper P between a two-side transfer device and a thermal fixing device by restraining the lowering of transfer property due to the influence of heat for fixing without making irregularities in an unfixed toner image on the transfer paper P due to the rubbing of the toner image with a supporting member. SOLUTION: A carrying device 300 is provided in a paper carrying path between the two-side transfer device constituted of a transfer unit 20 or the like and the thermal fixing device 30. The device 300 carries the transfer paper P received from the unit 20 to the device 30 while holding the paper P between both ends in a direction orthogonal to the carrying direction. Both ends thereof are the margin area being the non-image part of the paper P. Therefore, all the toner images transferred to both surfaces of the paper P respectively are fed to the device 30 and fixed on the paper P without rubbing.
