PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush unit which reduces the vibration of a brush, and suppresses noises. SOLUTION: This brush unit 8 is equipped with a brush 9, a coil spring 10 and a brush holder 11. The brush 9 is put in the brush holder 11. In the brush holder 11, the coil spring 10 touches the rear end surface of the brush 9, and the brush 9 is energized toward a commutator 7 side. Consequently, the tip part of the brush 9 comes into contact with the peripheral surface of the commutator 7 and is made to slide. They are formed so that the touching surface of the brush 9 with the commutator 7 extends from the circumferential end part of the commutator 7 toward the circumferential center.
