PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless local loop system that can accommodate an intelligent Payphone and attains a data call connection by the intelligent Payphone. SOLUTION: The wireless local loop system has a base station controller connected to a switch placed in a backbone network via an interface, a base station connected to the base station controller, a subscriber terminal connected to the base station through a wireless channel, and a telephone terminal connected to the subscriber terminal. When a password is attached to a call from the telephone, the base station controller discriminates that the telephone terminal is the intelligent Payphone and transmits the telephone number and the password to the switch placed in the backbone network by an in-band DTMF (dial tone multiplexed frequencies) signals.
