PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a white flaw inconspicuous by performing data interpolation of a pixel deteriorated by a white flaw defect of a CCD by using pixels in the vicinity of the deteriorated pixel. SOLUTION: Two pieces of pixel data are selected among pieces of pixel data of upper and lower lines of the white flaw pixel to be subjected to level comparison. It is decided which pattern of an image in the vicinity of the white flaw pixel is the closest to among several preassumed types of patterns according to division based on cases with respect to magnitude of correlation between the pixel data, and appropriate interpolation data is selected. |
