PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device of a printer which reduces the space for the fixing device, is adaptive to high-speed printing, saves electric power and improves heat efficiency, and further has its reliability improved. SOLUTION: The printer has recorded body conveying means (2, 33) which convey a continuous recorded medium (3), image recording means (8a, 8b) which transfers a toner image formed on a toner image carrier to the recorded body, and heating plates (16) equipped with heat sources arranged opposite both the surfaces of the recording medium and is equipped with the fixing device which fixes the toner image transferred to the recorded medium on the recorded medium; and the fixing device is equipped with endless heat shield belts (20) having, a shield area which cuts off heat supply from the heating plates to the recorded body and a cut area (A) which allows the heat supply from the heating plates to the recorded body, between the recorded body (3) and heating plates (16). |
