PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize multichannel and high quality data transmission and to reduce the signal processing burden of a display terminal and a video server device. SOLUTION: A display 14 transmits a parameter request signal to a transcoder 122, and the transcoder 122 converts (transcodes) digital video data into a compressing system, resolution, a frame frequency, etc., determined in the parameter request signal and subsequently outputs the transcoded data to the display 14. The display 14 decodes and displays the transcoded data. The transcoder 122 transcodes compressed data without decoding the compressed data completely. |
