PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an overheated state of a motor required for print operation even when power supply and printing are resumed upon elapsing a relatively short time after power supply to a printer is interrupted temporarily following to termination of print operation. SOLUTION: When the power switch of a printer is turned off, a heat storage quantity calculation value writing section (writing section) 73 reads in the heat storage quantity of a carriage motor (CM) 13 from a CM side heat storage quantity calculating section 63 and the heat storage quantity of a paper feed motor (PFM) 11 from a PFM side heat storage quantity calculating section 71, respectively, and writes them in an EEPROM 49. When the power switch is turned on following to turning-off, a heat storage quantity initial value setting section 75 reads out respective heat storage quantity calculation values from the EEPROM 49 and outputs the heat storage quantity calculation value of the CM 13 to the CM side heat storage quantity calculating section 63 and the heat storage quantity calculation value of the PFM 11 to the PFM side heat storage quantity calculating section 71. |
