PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can prevent the shortening of the service life of a toner transport means and deterioration of toner carrying ability on the basis of information on a temperature rise in the apparatus or the operating time of a main motor. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a transport means which removes and recover a toner image remaining on a turnable image carrier by using a cleaning means and transports the toner to a toner destination part. The transport means consists of a screw pump and an air feeding means and transports toner and air as a gaseous mixture. The driving interval of the toner transport means is set to be variable. |
