PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording system and an optical disk which have a high quality even in the case of a recording speed other than that for trial write. SOLUTION: The optical disk recording system performs trial write at a fundamental linear speed to obtain the most suitable recording power value for the fundamental linear speed and uses the most suitable recording power for the fundamental linear speed and an operation coefficient for each linear speed to obtain the recording power for the linear speed by an arithmetic formula and thus determines the recording power, and the optical disk recording system has a disk optimization mode in which recording characteristics of a disk are examined to rewrite set parameters for recording. In the disk optimization mode, trial write is performed at different recording linear speeds to obtain the most suitable recording power for each recording speed, and the operation coefficient for the linear speed is updated. In the normal recording mode, trial write is performed at the fundamental linear speed to obtain the most suitable recording power value for the fundamental linear speed, and the most suitable recording power for the fundamental linear speed and the updated operation coefficient for each linear speed are used to obtain the recording power for the linear speed by the arithmetic formula, and thus the recording power is determined. |
