OPTICAL PICKUP AND OPTICAL INFORMATION REPRODUCING DEVICE USING THE OPTICAL PICKUP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a DVD/CD interchangeable optical pickup by using one laser light source and one objective lens. SOLUTION: The DVD/CD interchangeable optical pickup is realized by mounting a light dividing element, which divides an incident luminous flux by diffraction and simultaneously generates a parallel luminous flux for a DVD reproduction and a divergent luminous flux for a CD reproduction, on the optical pickup, making use of a super resolving phenomenon of a laser luminous flux and using one laser light source having a wavelength of 785 nm and one objective lens having a practical aperture.
