PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for starting a reforming device, whereby water vapor contained in a reforming gas in a CO converter and a CO remover is prevented from being condensed when starting a fuel cell system and starting time is shortened. SOLUTION: The CO converter 2 and the CO remover 3 are stored in a single unit case 10, and a combustion chamber 10a in which a shift burner 9 and a fan 9a are disposed is provided in its lower part. When starting the fuel cell system, raw fuel is supplied to the shift burner 9 to burn it, and the temperature of the CO converter 2 and the CO remover 3 is raised to a prescribed temperature (100 deg.-120 deg.). After raising the temperature, combustion of the shift burner 9 is stopped, the raw fuel is supplied to the burner 1a of a reforming device 1 to burn it, and the temperature of the reforming device 1 is raised to a prescribed temperature (650 deg.-700 deg.). |
