PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably demodulate a magnetic recording medium 11. SOLUTION: The amplitude or the period of peak variance in an integral waveform of a reproduced signal of magnetic recording data is detected, and stop section is obtained on the basis of the detected amplitude or period of peak variance, and magnetic data information is not demodulated in the stop section to accurately detect a peak of magnetic recording data independently of the stop section, and thus the peak is satisfactorily detected though being not able to be detected conventionally when the passing speed of the magnetic recording medium like a magnetic card is made lower.
