PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively enhance the immunity of watermark by using a calculation method of local complexity of an image on the basis of a visual characteristics so as to revise the strength of the watermark pattern picture the local complexity of the image. SOLUTION: In the case of embedding an electronic watermark in a digital image in an unperceptive way, the local complexity of the image is obtained and revising more a complex part of the image than the other parts depending on the local complexity of the image so as to acquire an embedded image.
