PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set, with which receiving operation corresponding to a received electronic mail can be preset and convenience is improved without being troubled by incoming tones and vibration for reporting unwanted electronic mail. SOLUTION: A transmitting source address contained in received mail data is extracted, and then, it is confirmed whether the extracted transmitting source address or one part of the transmitting source address is stored in the 'specified address' of a memory part 12 or not. When the extracted transmitting source address or one part of the transmitting source address is stored in the 'specified address' of the memory part 12, the operation (specified operation) of mail receiving based on 'specified operation contents' stored corresponding to the 'specified address' of the transmitting source address or one part of the transmitting source address is performed.
