PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content distribution technique capable of eliminating the need of a function of recognizing the functions of each client terminal on a server side, performing conversion to contents of an appropriate data amount for each client terminal, distributing them and reducing useless communication by converting the contents for each client terminal on the side of a server 20 though information intrinsic to the client terminal 10 of the function or the like is managed on a client terminal side. SOLUTION: The contents of content conversion based on the function of the client terminal 10 are decided on the client terminal side and a mobile agent 40 supplied with the contents of the content conversion 50 is moved to the side of the server 20. On the server side, the contents 60 to be distributed are converted based on the contents of the content conversion provided in the mobile agent and the converted contents 70 are brought back to the client terminal by the mobile agent.
