PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently reproduce a color image displayed on a monitor by means of a printer by taking account of a visual difference between a light source color and an object color. SOLUTION: In the case of converting a monitor color signal into a printer color signal, the hue of the printer color signal corresponding to the hue of the monitor color signal is derived on the basis of a hue angle correlation table in a light source color and an object color in order to correct the visual difference between the light source color and the object color, and color gamut compression processing is applied to the monitor color signal on the basis of color gamut information in the hue of the obtained printer color signal.
