摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method based on a recording strategy which can record a mark, of which the rear end is not trailed, so as to be able to cope with increase of the recording linear speed and the recording density. SOLUTION: When a mark corresponding to a period nT is recorded, the laser power level is controlled between two standard power levels P1 and P2 (P1>P2), and a period t1 for which the laser power should be kept in the power level P1 within the period nT is set within a range equal to or shorter than λ/NA/v where v, λ, NA are the recording linear speed, the wavelength of a laser beam used for recording, and the numerical aperture of an objective lens respectively, and the temperature variation is controlled by the power levels P1 and P2 of the laser beam and the pulse width t1 to form the rear end of the mark independently of recrystallization, and thus the mark length is modulated by the simple recording strategy using a single pulse having two standard power levels. Because of this recording strategy, the mark longitudinally symmetrical in the peripheral direction of a disk can be recorded to suppress trailing of the mark rear end.
