PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell holding device capable of preventing a fuel cell stack from being easily deformed. SOLUTION: (1) This fuel cell holding device is provided with a housing to surround a cell layered product formed by layering plural membrane-electrode assemblies (MEA) and separators, and the housing 30 has a wall 31 to hold the cell layered product perpendicularly to the surface of a cell. (2) The housing 30 has a tension member 24 in the wall 31. (3) The tension member 24 is disposed in an outline to envelop a gas manifold 34. (4) The wall 31 of the housing is formed so that a part of its cross section takes the form of a grid. (5) The housing 30 has a cross sectional shape surrounding plural disposed electrodes or cells perpendicularly to the layered direction of the cell. |
