PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of copy processing and its data access for an information processing system without burdening a host during copying, enabling copying with a disk controller only, allowing copying on an arbitrary region of a copy destination volume, and keeping the interface from the host to the disk controller not changed. SOLUTION: This system puts copy region information in the disk controller, and when the host accesses a data set of a copy destination having the same address with a data set of a copy source, accessing address is transformed so that the data set of the copy source is accessed according to the copy region information.
