A compressor has a cylinder with a flat head (10) piston (1) surrounded by a groove (13) with an O-ring seal. The piston esp. has an upper section (10) with a number of apertures (14) opening into the groove, forming a link between the groove and cylinder swept volume when the seal is in the upper part of the groove.
