A slide (1) has an alteration switch (2) with a switchover contact (SC) (11) linked to a voltage source (21) and adjusted between two switch positions by relying on the slide's position. In each switch position the SC makes an electrical connection to one of several taps/leak-offs (7-10). A mechanical adjusting element (12) linked to the SC scans a control surface (13) as the slide moves. The control surface has control areas (16-19) to cause switchover in the SC.
