<p>A display unit which can display a 3-D object in a 3-D space without using stereoscopic glasses or the like, and allows an observer to freely fabricate the shape of the 3-D object, and which can be realized by developing an optical device having a special structure filled with a special material. The special material consists of a substance that can emit visible rays of light in a region where a plurality of invisible rays of light, that have been applied concurrently into the material from different points so as to cross superimposed, cross each other although the substance is colorless and transparent. The special structure is formed on the rear side of the surface thereof with at least one curved mirror, and guides visible rays of light produced in the material to a location where they are imaged in a space as a virtual image.</p> |
