A wind wheel rotor on a mast has a rotor shaft (1) running vertically/horizontally with its rotor blades (2) running in an axial direction and forming an increased resistance rotor. The rotor blades interlink via endless feeder surfaces (3) stretching from the back (4) of a rear blade chamber up to the beginning of a forward blade chamber. For automatic speed control, the wind collector blades have a swivel link with the rotor shaft by means of extension arms (31) and pivots (30) and are held in a non-positive manner in a position for a safe speed range for the wind wheel. If the safe speed is exceeded, an increase in centrifugal force swings the wind collector blades into a position with less wind resistance.
