METHOD FOR PREPARING TONER BY EMULSION COACERVATION AND COAGULATION

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing a toner composite having an average volume diameter of 0.5-25 microns and a geometric size distribution(GSD) of 1.05-1.60 with a high yield. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing a toner composite comprises the steps of: (1) adding a magnetic substance, a pigment or a charge modifier to a resin latex containing an ionic surfactant and dispersing uniformly; (2) adding to the dispersed mixture of step (1), aqueous solution of a polymer electrolyte having the opposite charge with the mixture to cause hetero-coacervation; (3) heating the mixture of step (2) at a temperature below the glass transition temperature(Tg) and agitating it to form static agglomerate; (4) diluting the static agglomerate of step (3) with distilled water and heating it at a temperature above the Tg to coagulate a toner composite; and (5) drying toner particles.
