Class 20(3) An anti-friction suspension for a sliding door comprises a runway 1 supported in or above the door opening and one or more carriages 5, supporting the door and each movable on a wheel 7 along the runway and the wheel 7 has a spindle 8 which during sliding movement of the door, rolls along a guide surface 21, e.g. formed by grooves in the top-hat section 5 of the carriage. Each carriage 5 carries a channel section bracket 17 secured thereto at the upper side 11, the opposite side 13 having a slot to accommodate a fixing bolt (not shown) for adjusting the door in relation to the face of the wall and this slot is continued in a tongue 15 cut out from the base of the channel section 17 and bent into line with the side 13. The wheel and spindles 7, 8, may be of hardened steel, or the wheel may be of nylon. Stop members 19 variable or fixed limit the movement of the wheel 7 relative to the carriage 5. |
