JIGGING APPARATUS

An apparatus and method of wet jigging, including a positive displacement mechanism including one selected from two actuators or a single double-acting actuator executing reciprocating strokes in at least two pumping chambers adjacent the hutch chamber, with one-way valve arrangements communicating between the pumping chambers and the hutch chamber, to deliver successive positive pulses in water into the hutch chamber and thence upwardly through the jigging screen, the pulse velocity following a wave form exclusively in an upward direction, varying cyclically between zero and a maximum and one-way valves for drawing water into the pumping chambers.
