A device for anti-theft protection and guarding against inadvertently forgetting the mobile phone when leaving a location has a transmitter (3) and a receiver (2) of which one (2,3) is firmly mounted in or on the Mobile phone (1), and the other (3,2) is carried on the person owning the phone. When a given spacing between the transmitter (3) and the receiver (2) is exceeded, a function is triggered i.e. an alarm signal is sounded and no more out-going calls can be made.
