METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATING DIGITAL DATA

The invention relates to a method for authenticating digital data whereby said data is linked to a two-part key. In the authentication procedure, both partial keys are combined to make a reference key, whose conformance with one of the master keys allocated to the digital data is verified. After successful authentication the master key or one or both of the partial keys are defined as being invalid and new updated keys are generated, whereupon further authentication of digital data is only possible by using the updated data records. The inventive authentication method is particularly suitable for automated execution of an exchange system.
