<p>This invention relates to a transmissive display device, comprising a plurality of optical shutter elements (1, 11 21) as well as a polarization selective reflection/transmission device arranged on the viewer side of the display device and a reflective light-redirecting device (4, 14, 24). Essentially each of said shutter elements is switchable between a reflective and a transmissive state. Furthermore, said reflective light redirecting device (4, 14, 24) is arranged to redirect reflected light towards ambient optical shutter elements.</p> |
