A headlamp has a source (12) of light like a dipped beam in a gas discharge/halogen lamp as well as a reflector (14) and a covering glass (16) with inner (16i) and outer (16a) sides. It also has a partially reflective covering (18) placed in front of and below the source of light and directed towards the covering glass, i.e. in order to blank the headlamp off downwards.
